CORDIS, the European Commission’s primary portal for EU-funded research projects, dedicated an article to the recent BEWATER-project, in which Prospex partnered up to co-develop River Basin Adaptation Plans together with local stakeholders in Spain, Cyprus, Tunisia and Slovenia.
In the article, the imperative role of Prospex’s Stakeholder Integrated Research (STIR) approach and Criteria-Quota-Individuals (CQI) method is highlighted. Thanks to the STIR approach and the CQI method, the highest level of stakeholder dialogue and diversity was ensured, ultimately bridging the gap between society and science. Bottom-up adaptation allows for smooth, readily applicable and long-term responses to water challenges in the Mediterranean, caused by climate change, and will remain a key approach to pursue in the transition of our societies to a climate-friendly future.
