In a recent interview for the Belgian newspaper De Tijd, Prospex’s Dr Katia Tieleman provided key insights on successful negotiations. Contrary to popular belief, Dr Tieleman argues that “good negotiation means helping the other side achieve their goals”. Only by thoroughly understanding and considering the other side’s needs, you can be a successful negotiator and arrive at an outcome that enables sustainable relationships and cooperation. “Raise the stakes and have high goals, but, at the same time be ready to make some concessions”.
