Exploring the Gains of Brain Flows in Europe: Prospex facilitates peer-learning

The concept of brain flow, as opposed to brain drain, focuses on the benefits of skilled migration for outgoing countries. Such benefits include the role of diasporas in the economic and political development of origin and host countries, and return (or `circular’) mobility – to name a few. It is within this context, and to address this matter, that on June 4th, 2019 the European Commission’s DG EMPL organized a Peer Learning Event on Brain Flow in Europe at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Brussels.

Prospex assisted the European Commission in designing an interactive day, composed of four parallel workshops, which fostered an exchange of best practices, lessons learned and ideas. Particular focus was on the movement of skilled labour in Member-States such as Romania, Greece, Germany, and on collaboratively addressing the recommendations by the ICF Study on the Movement of skilled Labour. The workshops also addressed return migration, labour market integration, and the sectors of health, ICT, research and education. Prospex gladly designed and moderated the Peer Learning Event.
